Twitter payment – From next week, external Twitter apps will only be able to access the social network for a fee. Twitter has blocked several of those apps, such as Tweetbot, Twitterrific and Fenix, for weeks.
With the external apps it is possible, for example, to manage multiple accounts or to schedule the publication time of tweets. Until recently, the apps could connect to Twitter’s systems via a special link.

Twitter payment wants to see money from third-party apps
From February 9, the link with Twitter’s systems can only be used against payment, the company announced on Thursday . It is not yet known how much the apps have to pay.
External apps have been banned from accessing the social medium since mid-January . Users initially thought it was a Twitter glitch. It wasn’t until a week later that the social media company admitted to deliberately blocking third-party apps .

Twitter owner Elon Musk wants to generate more revenue from the platform. In Twitter’s own app and web version, advertisements appear between tweets. This does not happen in apps such as Tweetbot, which means that Musk is missing out on money.
